This page is dedicated to Camp Fleischmann (a.k.a., CF). This once a year, weekly adventure at summer camp can easily be a Scout's most important Scouting experience. We have tried to assemble all of the CF information in one place. If you are looking for something and don't find it here, click on the Webmaster link at the bottom of this page and let him know what you need.
Several of these items are PDF documents. You will need Adobe's Acrobat Reader (or something that can read PDF formatted files). In most cases, they will open in another browser window (most browsers support PDF plug-ins).
New for 2007 is an Outpost program that will offer High Adventure for Scouts 14 or above. Backpacking in Lassen (back to CF).

| Campsite | We are scheduled to be in the Suhayda Island campsite. However, the Camp Staff makes assignments based on the number of Scouts/Adults going and the capacity of a site. We may be place somewhere else when we check in... Here is the CF Map. |
| Getting There | It's about a 3 hour drive from Truckee to CF. We usually stop in Quincy for lunch (both going and returning). Scouts should bring a lunch or money to buy a lunch (going) and bring money to buy lunch (returning). Here are some written directions, an overall map (Shed to CF) and a "close up" of the last 2 miles. |
| CF Leader's Guide | Although it says Leader's Guide, there is plenty of information for Scouts and Parents (PDF format). There are many references to this document below. |
| Merit Badges for 1st Year Scouts | Scouts that are going to summer camp for the first time (as a Boy Scout), will work on the First Aid, Swimming and Canoeing Merit Badges. You also get to select an optional Merit Badge (Art or Leatherwork). Let your CF Scoutmaster know with option you like. |
| Merit Badges for other Scouts | Grab a copy of the 2007 Merit Badge Schedule and review the 2nd page. We expect Scouts to work on between 4 to 6 Merit Badges at camp. Every year there are "last minute" additions/deletions to the Merit Badges offered. We find out about them the day we arrive. Please be understanding if we have to "mess up" your schedule to deal with these changes. |
| Nevada Area Council's CF Website | CF is run by the Nevada Area Council. (Troop 267 is part of the Sierra District, within the Nevada Area Council.) They have lots of information about CF on their website. (In fact, several of the links on this page point to specific item in their website. |
| Consent Form | Please print page 41 of the Leader's Guide, fill out, sign and return to your CF Scoutmaster. This is a two-part form. The first part is authorizing medical care for your Scout (just in case). The second part is authorization for your Scout to participate in activities at the Rifle Range. Everyone MUST fill out a form for each Scout going to CF. The medical care section must be completed. Optionally, you may give your Scout permission to go to the Rifle Range. If you don't fill this section out, no permission is granted. |
| Troop Permission Form | You should have also received (via e-mail) a Troop Permission form. Each Scout must submit a signed Troop Permission form |
| Medical Forms | Scouts (and adults under 40) must have up-to-date Class 1 & Class 2 forms on file with the Troop. Adults 40+ years must have an up-to-date Class 3 form on file with the Troop. No form, no camp - it's that simple! |
| Mountain Man | Starting on page 35 of the Leader's Guide, there are Mountain Man forms for each Scout. Each page is for Scouts who have attended camp for a varying number of years. (Four or more years use the same form.) Find your page and print it up, fill out as much as you can and then bring it with you. You might want to bring a few extra copies (just in case you get forgetful and loose your sheet). |
| Personal Equipment List | Pages 32 & 33 of the Leader's Guide has a list of things should should bring to CF. If you have never been to summer camp, this is a good place to start. The Troop's website also has a Camping Equipment list which you might find helpful. |
| Solo Camper Award | If you are First Class (or above) and want to get your Solo Camper Award, grab page 34 of the Leader's Guide, fill it out and get it to your CF Scoutmaster. |
| Cell Phones / Emergencies | There are a few, scattered places at CF were we get some cell phone service ("stand next to the tall tree on the ridge, face south, put your right arm high in the air and lift your left leg..."). Emergencies are best handled through the BSA Office in Reno. Click here to get the BSA Office information. |
| First Class Trail | All Scouts that are not First Class must remember to bring their BSA Handbook and they will be put onto the First Class Trail. |
| Been There; Done That | We have some photos from the 2003 CF adventure... Take a look. Click here to go to the first of two photo pages from our website. |
